The dealer said they had to contact Audi 3 times and show photos of the brake pads.
Max i've driven is about 100 mph when solo.
The service advisor even suggested that probably no need to change when i dropped off because of low mileage. - i mentioned to him that brakes a bit squeaky at drop off time.
This was all done free of course by dealer.

Just wondering if there is a possible recall on the SQ5 brake pads or related brake items.
I did have a baby seat in the rear cabin - the person servicing could of just thought about safety first and requested to change the pads but needed approval from Audi America???

Default SQ5 message of do not go over 4000 rpm in S mode

Anyone get this message while driving in S mode?
It says to not go over 4000 RPM.

I don't have an SQ, but if any car except a Formula1 racer needed new pads in 5000 miles? I'd say either there was something else very broken, or there was a very poor driver dragging the left foot on the brake all the time. Nothing personal--but I've seen that happen. Guy swore he wasn't doing it, brake lights said otherwise.

I had that message. Turned out oil pressure sensor was bad. Dealer replaced it under warranty.

How many miles were on the SQ5 when you got it from the dealer? Could a person who test drove your SQ5 prior to you purchasing it have tested the brakes severely? Checking your brake system's components is part of the first 5k service, so I would consider yourself lucky that you got some brand new pads, as long as you didn't have to pay out of pocket..... New wiper blades are also supposed to be included if those got worn out as well......

I also just had my first service for my Q5, and I knew what was involved in the first service more than the service writer did, which scared me a little.... Consider yourself lucky that you got a thorough inspection which IMHO speaks well for your SQ5's dealership.

BTW, for future reference check out Audi's maintenance schedule for 2014s http://www.audiusa.com/content/dam/a...-Year-2014.pdf
