Default Alignment and New Tires

Good Afternoon,

I was putting new tires on my Q5 and just got the alignment done also I noticed some unusual tirewear. Car only has 30k on it looks like the rear was out a bit and some the front. Any ideas for causes or just normal for these?

it looks like your alignment is way off.

this would account for uneven ware

i had the same issue for my new bmw 530i. it was way off when delivered. i got uneven tire I raised it . Eventually the dealer and got me 5 new tires. This is ONLY after after i raised it to the VP of customer service and complained about poor dealer service .

do the same

New tires I didn't go though dealer to purchase. Do you raise it through manufacture? Or just dealer you purchased from? Any suggestions?

Thanks

Did an Audi dealer perform the alignment? If not, then you can't work with Audi for a bad factory alignment issue.

Doesn't look way off to me but it certainly isn't right. I'm at 32k miles and planning an alignment soon.

If I'm understanding your post correctly, you're saying after 30k miles you discovered the alignment was off. That's a lot of miles where a lot of different things happen that can affect your alignment. The simplest example would be hitting a pothole. In any case, to me this is totally normal after 30k miles of driving.

Just speaking plainly, 30K needs new tires and alignment off? I would just move on knowing it was put in order and you have new rubber at a not unexpected change point--depending on motor, driving style, etc. And on alignment, my spousal unit can take out the alignment with a few good parking by Braille maneuvers. She did it on Q5 as low as 5K miles. If you have any curb rash BTW, you have one likely answer on how alignment came to be. Besides even a single hard pot hole strike for that matter.

We'll I've talked to the spousal unit and it looks like shes had a bumps into the curb when parking without telling me. Which would explain the rear right

I'm loving the new Cont. Extreme Contact DWS06's though, they are a lot better than the Goodyear's which were on the car before.

There is actually an exchange policy but it usually runs at a very high price. My last one cost me a house, a bunch of money and about everything else I had. If it were me, I would keep the original even though she hits curbs.....
