Hi,
Searched but couldn't find anything on this...
Just noticed our 2016 SQ5 seems to have some weirdness on the backlight for the Tach & Speedo
When in the bright sun light, the backlight is on, when we pull into the garage or drive through some shade, the backlight turns off completely (not dimming).
This seems backward to us...

Is this normal behavior?
We didn't notice it doing this until today, and we've only had the car for a month.

Do you have the headlight switch set to Off (instead of Auto)? I know Off is supposed to not turn backlighting and such on to avoid the likelihood of the driver forgetting to turn the headlights on manually since they can still read their instruments, though I figured it was just always off. Don't run that way myself, though, so can't vouch for it personally.

(And even if you think you're in Auto, it'd be good to check since a knee could bump the switch and turn it to Off. Happened to me several times over the last two years.)

Yes, we had the switch in the "0" position.
Will try the "Auto" instead.

Yeah in 0 the lights turn off when its dark to remind you to put your lights on.

In auto it just turns the lights on automatically so it all stays on.
