In the wider image, dipstick is dead center. It's a little cheap-looking, plastic tab with a couple plastic hooks holding it in place around the lip of the dipstick tube. It doesn't like to come out easily so just pull a bit or wiggle it out. Be careful not to break the hooks. Insert dipstick...
Do those of you who have the dipstick keep it in there full-time or just for maintenance measures, replacing it with the tab when you're done?

Is this one that people get a lot or is there an OEM one? https://www.ecstuning.com/News/Audi_...013_2014_2015/
Audi Genuine OEM Oil Dipstick (3.0T, 3.2L)
I leave it in there all the time.

Final folllowup on my original post.
I had my appointment at the dealer Friday to figure out why I kept getting the low oil warning. Dealer confirmed:
- Yes, there was too much oil in the engine from adding in response to the warning...exact amount was undertermined by I'm guessing 1.5 - 2 based on the reading I got. They stated that it was unlikely that any damage was done to the engine due to the excess oil.
- The oil level sensor in pan failed (replaced under warranty). They have seen this recently on SQ's only.
- The aftermarket dipstick I bought was the correct length (measured against their set-point adjustable service dipstick) I bought mine at: https://www.europaparts.com/oil-dips...6e115611h.html . It is okay to leave the dipstick in the tube.
- Filter and oil redone - filled with Penzoil Platinum Euro (Full Syn, Pure Plus Technology)
Thanks again for everyone's help!
