Ok. I've got a '14 premium plus and just got a free data only sim from t-mobile. For the life of me I can't get it to work. I've tried changing the APN to fast.t-mobile.com and left the password and username blank. I have also checked data roaming.

Anyone have any ideas? If I can get this to work, it'll be a free 6 gigs a month!

the APN keeps going back to m2m.t-mobile.com I'm stumped.

I tried the Free Data For Life promotion SIM from T-Mobile... it didn't work because Audi TAC IDs as a phone, not a data device. Might be the same problem for you

I've had the T-Mo 200MB free promo sims for over a year but could not get them to work in the MMI, however, they both work fine in my iPads. At the time it was determined that the promo sim would only work in a tablet specified by T-Mo's UDID database, not a phone or any other device including the car.

This was actually a free extra phone line promo that is going on just now. I had mentioned that I was going to use it in my car so they gave me a data SIM. Is it possible if I go back and ask for the cell phone SIM it may work?

Doubtful. It's likely the same thing I encountered with the free tablet only promo sim - the car's UID is not included in their database as a valid device.

Hi, I have a 2013 Q7 and got me last year a Truphone sim card, which worked great after I installed it. I used the online search functions.

At some point, I think January 2017 it quit working... I don't know why ... anyone has a similar problem? Any help.

As reported earlier somewhere in the thread, last June Truphone stopped supporting T-Mobile 3G, only AT&T. If you were getting AT&T 2G after that date on Truphone, AT&T stopped supporting 2G in January. MY2013 would need a modem update to receive AT&T 3G (or T-Mo 3G if they have updated the 3G bands in your area).

I got my modem upgraded for free by calling audi connect under the guise that I was going to purchase a monthly plan. They'll look up your vehicle and see that the modem is too old for the current system and tell refer you to your local dealership for the upgrade. Dealership asked me who sent me, I said audi connect.
After the upgrade was finished on mine I never heard back from audi connect.
