I purchased a 2014 TDI for my wife today that has the plate holder. Can I simply pop it off or do I need to buy another grill that doesn't have it?

You can remove it, but you need the filler panel to put there.

I have a cover without a license plate frame and has front sensors.

If you can't get the dealer to swap them out for you, let me know. I am sure we can work something out.

Mine is Gloss black with 2 chrome bars that go horizational and of course the holes / mounts for the front sensors.

Got it a while back for the wife, but she decided she wanted a SQ5 grille instead. So never installed.

Will send pics to you when I get home this weekend
