Default B8 A4 Side Mirrors on Q5?

Hi All,
I can't stand the visibility limitations created by the tall Q5 mirrors especially when making left turns. I was wondering if its possible (with minimal modification) to swap the Q5 side mirrors with the smaller ones from the B8 A4 or A5? Would it be as simple as replacing the mirror covers and mirror glass or will I need to replace the entire mirror system? FYI, I have a bare bones 12' Premium+ with mirrors without Blind Spot Warning indicators

Since I don't know whats involved with this type of mod, I'd like some input.

Thanks!

Once I am back in the office I will check ETKA but I am guessing there will be some fitment issues, particularly where the mirror pedestal mounts to the body. Most likely the shape of the mounting points are completely different, you may be able to get an idea just by holding one up to the Q. If it actually does fit I think you will then run into electrical and compatibility issues with the wiring. Audi's are not very conducive to swapping parts across model lines, it can be done in some cases but you have to get pretty creative and occasionally "trick" the car into thinking the original parts are on the car. I am a firm believer in; with enough time and money, anything is possible, so I will not say it can't be done, but I would imagine it would be cost prohibitive in the end.
I am interested to see if anyone has done it before, the people in this forum seem to be able to accomplish just about anything so I would not be surprised if it has been done.

Thanks. I appreciate your insight. Hopefully it won't be cost prohibitive.

I think it's too complicated and expensive
Only the adjusting unit with motor for exterior mirror the same, everything else is differently: mirror glass , mirror cap, turn signal indicator .............
Priced around $600-650 for one side

Here you have all the parts and prices:http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/
Mirror Assembly: 8K1857409AG
Cap: 8F0857527
Mirror: 8K0857535D
Turn Signal: 8K0949101C
or used on ebay or similar

Good luck with your project and I'd love to see how it looks (I think it's ugly)
