Latest Maps?
Have had my SQ5 for a while now (got one of the first ones off the boat in Texas), and noticing that the maps are not as up to date as I would like. Have an old Garmin, with lifetime maps, but there is something to be said for the always available navigation in the car. Have not seen any indication that the maps have had an update, but was wondering if there was one? Probably won't pay the high cost to update (would buy a new Garmin first i think), but am curious.
Thanks in advance.

When I bought my car, I tried to included a free future update in the deal and they didn't wanted. I'm wondering why updates are so expensive.

Yeah, was pretty sure it would be outrageously expensive. The 7 inch Garmin, with lifetime maps, is only about $500 on Amazon. Will likely just go for one of the later Garmin models and forget about the map update from Audi. The latest MB navigation seems to be coming with 3 years of map updates now.

The reason the map updates are so expensive is the labor. While a tech doesn't have to babysit an update the whole time, the 3 hours or so it takes ties up a service bay. (The disc itself is prob somewhere around $100 but unfortunately, only the dealer can update the maps). Starting with the new MMI (already available in the 2016 C7 and A3/S3) presumably in the 2017 Q5 series, map updates will be available as a download for the owner to install with the first few at no charge. About time for Audi.
