MMI 3G+ Largest SD Card Size?
I was wondering if anyone has tried a 256GB SD card in their MMI? I just purchased a few 128GB SDXC cards and after reformatting them to FAT32, I was able to use them in the MMI of my 2014 without issue. Search mainly yielded results indicating 32GB was the max, although some people were debating 64GB. So I was rather delighted to see my 128GB working seamlessly and very quickly to boot. Anyone have success with 256GB?

Spijun, that must be either outdated or stated for "safe" operation, but I have already tested 128GB SDXC cards with no issues. I've seen posts on another Audi site(that I won't link) which has members that have had success with over 7000 files in the new B8's MMI with no issues.
Also, I can successfully play smoothly video files on the MMI that have 30fps, but your data shows 25fps max....so I think Audi is either being modest or that info is for older models...
Since I've gotten the 128GB to work with great success.....Does anyone have a 256GB SDXC or SDHC card they can test?

Can't speak to 256GB (I only use an 8GB, don't need my entire library in the car ), but it's possible that 32 or 64GB may be the largest fully-supported size and you could potentially be unable to utilize all 128GB of your card. So it's possible that it'll be able to read from a larger-than-supported card but unable to read everything from it.
But personally I'm a fan of understating what's supported just so people can push the limits reasonably successfully but can't hold you responsible if something acts up.
"I only get access to 96GB of my 512GB card!"
"Well, we did say only up to 32GB was supported, so if your card gets you 96GB that's pretty good!"

I will re-state the question posted earlier: Does your Q5 actually see all of that 128 GB of content? I've seen reports before that even though your Q5 will recognize a larger card, it can only "see" the first 32 GB of content. But it is possible that Audi has made some improvements recently, and this limitation is no longer there.

That's great. Which specific SD cards have you purchased?

The cards are Transcend class 10 SDXCs and SDHCs. I'm not at home at the moment, but I'll fill the folders up with more then 5000 files and see if I run into issues and report back. I'll also post the links to the exact cards also when I get back.

The SDHC limit of 32GB applies to the 2014 base radio system. It will take larger cards but it simply cannot see or use memory beyond the first 32GB. Unlike some cheaper radios, it also won't TELL you that it is ignoring the media.
The same base radio will work with larger USB devices (using an AMI cable) and of course, if you use an SDXC-USB holder, you can insert SDXC cards that way in any case.
If you've got an upgraded audio system, I'm told it will take larger cards and actually work with the, but I don't personally know.
The SDXC spec calls for accepting some ungodly size like 2TB, but there's a lot of "SDXC-ish" equipment that stops at arbitrary sizes.

I'm using a 128 GB card in my 2013 Q5 with B&O and a 256 GB card in my 2014 A7 with Bose. The key to making them work is to format them as FAT32. exFAT (what they come formatted as) is not supported.
