Oil Consumption - 2012 Model
The excessive oil consumption issues for 2009-2011 models are well documented and in most cases are covered under extended warranty (in the US). I was wondering if anyone with a 2012 model year or newer is experiencing excessive oil consumption and if so what the cause/resolution was?
I have a 2012 2.0T model and right know at 65K miles it needs a quart every 1000 miles, which is not (yet) a complete disaster but not 'normal' either. It is not covered by the warranty anymore and I am worried it will get worse over time.

I've heard of A4's still having issues. Q5's have less issues because being heavier vehicles, their engines get broken in better. Some day, someone will need to explain why they tell you to drive easy on engine break in. That's simply the wrong way to seat piston rings.... and brakes. That's at least the theory why A4's have a lot more issues than Q5's.
The real question is, when did Audi make the production change to use tighter piston rings?

I believe there was an engine mod of some sort to address oil burning part way through 2012. Sadly my '12 was produced in November, 2011. In any case mine started burning more and more oil after about 15k miles but after some research on the i'net indicating that aggressive driving might be helpful (and doing this at least once a week) I'm now near 60k miles and burn about the same as I did before 15k miles - about a quart every 5k miles.
