I had phase 1 performed as well as some other issues. They did reflash the PCM per TSB so I will have to get it reflashed. I also need to return in 600-700 miles for phase 2 (once again weight oil)so I will have it reflashed back to stage 1 by APR after that time. I will call APR (for ****s and giggles) out of curiosity to inquire if this bulletin is incorporated in their stage 1 tune.

Dropped off my Q5 this morning for phase II of the oil consumption test. Tech reported that the Q5 didn't burn any oil after 700+ miles of phase I. They are reporting this to Audi Tech Support. I believe the Tech since I also checked my oil level via dip stick and MMI Oil info level.

So for my case, the PCV valve replacement fixed my issue.

I will monitor my oil consumption closely and see how many miles it'll take to burn 1 quart of oil after this fix. Previously, I was burning 1 qt. every 2400 miles.

So how much oil burned vs miles driven qualifies as a problem according to Audi?

Anything more than 1/2 quart in 600 miles. After the fix, they measured my burn rate at .07 quarts at 750 miles. Much better now.

The wife's Q had the low oil warning come on today 5K miles after an oil change....

Sent dealer an email to schedule a loaner and an oil test....

it's been 20 years since I had an OLD car that I had to watch the oil on...
much less a new car

1 quart at 5000 miles is actually good. But the test is free so have them do it anyway.

One has to remember most turbocharged vehicles will burn oil!

My previous vehicle was a modified Subaru STi that burned a quart every 3k miles and this was expected...

My Q5 is a 2013 with 1800 miles and oil level is reading half between max and min...it seems I am right on track for 1qt every 5k miles.

That's news to me

If I'm counting right, this is my 6th or 7th turboed vehicle...
granted all but 3 of them were turbo diesel pickups/suvs,
but never had to add oil even with 7 to 10k oil change intervals...

And we were actually thinking of going to look into a trade in for the 3.0T,
but just making me have second thoughts about another Audi ....

I am glad the oil consumption test is working out for some of you. I am interested to see if anyone needs to get pistons.
