I love the Nav system in our 2014. I've had Garmin's for years and I am fairly convinced that obsolesce is built into the system once it goes past a certain age (ie: my wife and I joked that our 3 yr old Nuvi would route us a different way because it was trying to kill us. The Garmin wasn't consistent in the up and back routes, they were always different).

Also, depending on where you are going you might not have phone coverage. We go up to North central PA every year and we never, ever have any phone coverage up there, which makes phone nav unusable.

none tried installing an ipad or ipad mini,, this 300 device seems to have more functionality than 3k
