Glad I have AudiCare.
The video is out of date. Current (2013+) have a canister oil filter, not a replaceable filter element.

That would be fine if the filter were underneath, but with the filter on top. This is too clean, easy and fast.

BTW: The dealer in my area, suck it out also. Car was never lifted (except at 5k for tire rotation) when I took it in for 4
Audicares.
I'm really skeptical that a suck-out oil change removes all the residue in the oil pan like pulling the drain plug.

Why? As long as the tube reaches the bottom of the pan, it should do fine.

Default That's a good thing too!

I have the multi part plastic canister type on my 2006 A8 and on a 2010 Mini S. Some faux enviro idea gone bad I think. Takes far more solvent and oil soaked rags or paper towels to deal with than the spin ons, so it really isn't environmentally friendly to my mind. I was glad to see a simple spin on design back again.

Default Keep looking, but yes a different motor.

we both have Hybrids, so a 2.0T variant to start. OP has a 3.0T, but replies in thread are for a variety of Q5 motors.

Thanks for posting this, very informative. Apparently only the 2.0 TFSI uses a cartridge oil filter, and the rest use a replaceable filter element. Audi should have kept the same oil filter configuration across the line.

Model 2.0TFSI has types 1 and 2
-Installing oil filter cartridge: Type 1
-Changing oil filter element: Type 2

I know I have a cartridge filter - I've changed it.

So I can get a housing with a replaceable filter element instead of the cartridge filter? Aside from being more environmentally friendly, a filter element should be cheaper.
