Default Should I buy a 2015 or 2016 Q5 2.0 ?

The 2015's are made in Germany. The 2016's are made in Mexico on a different frame and are 200 pounds lighter.
Which should I buy?

Thanks

Your info is incorrect. 2016 is still made in Germany. It's still the exact same car, apart from maybe some options that became standard for 2016. There is no way the 2015 model is 200 lbs heavier, unless it includes a dead body in the trunk.

Dead bodies, in the trunk, also don't start until production moves to Mexico....

Good point. Stay away from the promotional "body kit" from 2017 onwards...

Thanks for the info. The article I read was incorrect. Sounds like the 2017's will be made in Mexico.

Most articles fail to distinguish between manufacturing year and model year, and that creates widespread confusion. Production in Mexico will in fact start in second half of 2016 (if all goes well), but they will already be producing the 2017 model year at that point.

The succinct dead body comments....lunch drink spit all over laptop. Thanks for making the day more tolerable.

I know your original question was answered but in terms of the actual models...they're basically identical. The 2015 and 2016 look the same inside and out. The 2016 comes with a couple of additonal features included in the Premium plus trim but I forget which ones they were.

My wife and I just purchased a 2016 Q5 and absolutely love it. It's not a TDI but it's a beautiful ride nonetheless.

Quick Reply: Should I buy a 2015 or 2016 Q5 2.0 ?
