Default Slip-on Replacement Exhaust Tips ??

Hi -

Been a Benz guy for the last 12 years or so, but my wife drove the ML350 and then the Q5 and fell in love with the Q5, so ... I am now a new owner of 2011 Q5 3.2 Premium Plus S-Line.

Took my time and found the right car ... original owner, very particular just like me, only 24k miles, Audi Care, and 2 months remaining on factory warranty - all good.

My son has a 2001 S4 Avant - great car - 150k miles and going strong, so that helped me decide to try an Q5...

This Q5 is really in excellent condition, inside and out. The one item that is not showroom new is the original Audi "exhaust tips" which have dulled and look much older than the rest of the car.

Ebay shows a bunch of "slip-on" type stainless exhaust tips. I'm a;lsways a bit suspect of Chinese and even Hong Kong Ebay items because the quality can vary dramatically. QUESTION : Has anybody tried any of these stainless slip-on tips, and if so, were you satisfied with the fit and finish, and which vendor did you go with ?

Thanks !

I know on the a5, the tips are slip on as well from the factory. Just my 2 cents. Why don't you get OEM. They are not that pricey.

The factory tips are stainless and will most probably look new after working over the blackened areas with a scotch brite pad. Aftermarket tips don't clean up so well.

I've started using the P21S Polishing Soap a couple times per month. Apply, rinse off and dry. Couldn't be easier:

If you decide to replace yours I'm a willing buyer for your originals -- my Q's were missing when I bought it!
