About $10,000. There is no objective definition, only subjective, mainly by the automotive press.
But I would say any car with power windows, air conditioning, leather seats, alloy wheels, and other convenience items would be a premium class car.
Is Volkswagen a premium car? Must be, because there are parts on the Q5 with a Volkswagen logo.
I totally agree that a Q5 is more stable at high speeds than a Ford Edge. But here in the US, it is not possible to drive more than 130 KPH (80 MPH) for extended periods.

No VW is not the premium class cars.
VW Group's Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, SEAT, Skoda and Volkswagen
Volkswagen logo exists on many car parts
On the U.S. market should not sell a single car that goes faster than 80MPH
Very good for you, buy and enjoy the Edge
Good luck with Edge
The end for me

Sounds like you had an awful time with your Q5. Sorry to hear that.
Then again I'm confused with why you'd stick around instead of moving to the positive side of your new ride?
If you are looking for some pride, even an apology from us then I guess it's okay for us to put a "troll" tag on.
Well what do I know, enjoy your ride! Glad you found something that works for you.

I was going to make the same observation. Troll. Ignore.
BTW I came from a Mazda CX-9 which, while well engineered and well built -- and having nearly the same feature set of my Q5 -- was just a cut below in quality. Shinier plastic. Cheaper, harder leather. Skinnier steering wheel and shift ****. Thinner carpet and headliner. And on and on. Nice car ... just not an Audi.
