Default Power hatch release

We had the 5K service done on the Q5 yesterday and they gave me another Q5 as a loaner which had many more options then mine (although most Q5s do). I loved the backup camera, very cool. One thing I was suprised about was the power liftgate. It does not work off of the keyflop? I had to hit the handle on the hatch to start the opening process and then press the button on the hatch to close it. But I thought this would have been controled by the key flop. All the keyflop appeared to do is onlock the rear hatch only. Is that correct or was it just not working correctly?
Thanks

If you hold the middle button on the keyfob it should pop open the hatch.

Yes, it works off the keyflop. You would have to hold it for 2-3 seconds though. Unless the auto lock for the hatch is on, then you probably would have to unlock the vehicle first. And yes the only way to close it is via the button on the hatch.
