Default Whistling Sound Driver Side - 2015 Q5 TDI

On the freeway at 60mph and above we sometimes (usually in wind) get a low volume (but enough to be annoying) high pitched whine somewhere around the driver side door. Dealer couldn't find anything. Anyone had experience with this or something similar?

Have you removed the roof rack bars?

It is the mirror. There is a TSB for it. Mine was going crazy a couple of years ago, the TSB helped. If you search this forum you will find more info on it.

+1... I had the same problem for a few days on mine. It was definitely in the ds mirror area. I tried tape on the mirror to change harmonics etc but in the end I washed and waxed the mirror and applied silicon spray to all the seals near the mirror and the sound went away. I suspect it was a seal as I cannot see how the wash and wax would change anything. I will have to look up the tsb to see what it really was.

This is exactly right and I think they even did the same thing.
