Default Q5 rear legroom compared to A4?

How does the A4's rear legroom compare to the new Q5? Guessing it's about the same since they're built on the same platform right?

I had a 2017 A4 rental a few weeks back when my G37 was getting a dent fixed. With the drivers seat back enough to be comfortable (about 90% of the way back), the rear legroom wasn't great. It was probably good enough for adults, but for my kids (who aren't tall enough yet for their knees to reach the end of the seat, so the lower halves of their legs stick out instead of bending down) the space wasn't nearly enough. My daughter had to sit cross legged lol.

I can't find the dimension info on Audi's site to compare. The only hope I have is that with the Q5 being an SUV the seats will be up off the floor slightly higher than the A4, meaning I wouldn't have to have the drivers seat as far back to be comfortable.

The Q5 seating position is more upright. The rear legroom is greater and more roomy due to this higher seating position.

That's what I was hoping to hear, thanks

I also read somewhere that the rear seat can slide back too. It was on the current-gen Q5 though, not sure if the feature carries forward to the new one.

Yes it does. Check out this excellent review by Thomas of Autogefuhl

thanks. the legroom looks like it'll work.

now to wait for the updated DAP to be available on the SQ5 and I should be good to go order wise (test drive pending of course lol).

MkII has this feature for sure, however I would call it "slide forward", not back lol. Default position is all the way backwards, and you can slide it forward to allow for more room in the trunk.
