Default '13 trailer light connection does not fit

I recently bought a used '13 Q7 which has towing hitch and wiring harness. I am assuming the hitch and harness is OEM b/c the hitch has an Audi sticker w/part number. Yesterday I received a supposed OEM trailer light connector from amazon, but it does not fit into the wiring harness (cannot push it far enough in to lock into place). I've googled the part and multiple websites sell the same connector for my vehicle.

Is anyone able to verify whether or not the connector I bought is incorrect or is my wiring harness incorrect for my year and model?

Connector I ordered:

Default on my 2012

the plate is mounted to the car and you simply flip up the spring loaded cap That I can see in your photo (it has 4 screw holes that mount it to your car) and plug in the adapter to convert it to 4 pin out.

For future people who have the same issue, I have found out what the problem is.

The 7-way connector is correct and my problem is that the plastic lock on the inside of the trailer light harness has broken off preventing me from locking the two pieces together. My local Audi dealership was not able to figure it out, but the U-Haul office was. Audi does not sell a replaceable lock and I'm waiting to hear back from Pollak (wiring harness manufacturer) to see if they do. If I can't replace it, I'll try duct tape or zip ties to hold the two pieces together.

In hopes of saving someone else $50, this adaptor works just as well as the Audi branded one.
