Default 2 sets of rims and tires

How many of you have 2 sets of rims for your Q7? Right now i have the 21' OEM peelers with Dunlop summer tires on mine and a set of 20' OEMs in need of new tires sitting in my garage. I was thinking about putting dedicated snow tires on the 20's for the 3 months of the year that we might see snow in NYC. When the dunlops wear out on my 21's i'm going Conti DWS. Doesn't make sense to me to put all season tires on the 20's,does it? Thoughts? Opinions?

If you're planning all season tires for the 21's, I see no reason to do the same for the 20's unless you're looking for redundancy. A dedicated winter tire on the 20's seems like the best all around solution for where you live.

If only those new DWS06's had been available in the 21" size when I bought my Q, I would have gone with the 21" wheels. I wasn't interested in swapping wheels/tires on my "snow car", so I went with the 20's that came with all season rubber.

It makes sense to have 2 sets and do the swap. For your area, I'd look at a winter tire that does well with wet and icy conditions. It might not snow that much where you are, but you still get conditions where all-seasons just won't perform as well as a winter tire.

Save yourself from sliding on a ramp, bridge, or coming to a stop and avoiding rear ending the guy ahead of you and you'll be glad to make the swap.

Default heh...I have 3

two stock sets and one custom set. I got the second stock set with good tires for under $400 so I couldn't pass them up!

I have two sets for both Q7's. 18" snows and factory 19" on the 4.2 and 20" factory installed with 18" OE wheels on the 3.6. I do not run the 20" wheels on the 3.6, the tires are crap Firestones and the ride was horrible so I downgraded to OE 18" with Pirellis.
