2009 vs 2008....
Hi all!
I know, maybe I make too much threads per week but these are important things and it helps to keep the forum "active"...
After reading these reviews on the '09 model, it's a bit scary but I know that 95% of bad reviews are written by frustrated guys who have problems staring at 10K miles...
After 75 or 80k miles, these problems have probably been solved but some reviews talk about problems at 100k with good maintainance...A bit scary..
While '08 reviews are quite better.
My question is simple: Shall I buy a '08 or a '09. Maybe as you know (on other threads I've made) I will well check maintenance, use Carista etc...
And I will very well maintain it..
But the risk to get a lemon is still there...
2008 or 2009? I need you help again

Buy whichever vehicle checks out better when you get a thorough PPI (pre-purchase inspection). You are buying an almost decade old vehicle, so most of the issues that present themselves and are voiced, occur during the standard warranty period. Also, factors such as engine, type of suspension have an impact on reliability. But essentially, buy the one which has the more concise records and with ANY used vehicle purchase, you are buying the owner as much as the car. if the current owner looks shady and doesn't seem to be forth-right and transparent - RUN AWAY from the vehicle, no matter how good a deal you are getting.
Okay thanks man!
And with your own buyer experience, what do you think is better; a dealer (random car dealer) or an "individual"? (owner)

My personal thought where all things being equal, mileage, service history etc, an individual seller is better. If they are selling you a known bad car, they would have this on their conscience and they may fear you coming back to them. People will feel less bad trading a bad car into the dealer for them to sell. Most dealers don't have a conscience.

Do all Q7 have the leak problem? Cause I'm pretty sure that I will find a '08 with 70K KM and no leak repair, so if I find one like that, it means there won't be that problem, cause it appears around 15~20k yeah?
