I have a 2013 Q7, and there is a cover in the back of the headlight housing that prevents you from pushing from the back to allow the housing to slide forward. It appears this is not present in previous models (at least from the videos I have watched) any ideas? Unless I am doing something wrong, it looks pretty simple otherwise.

OK. So I was able to remove the housing by pushing through where the plug is. It took a while but it came out. It is better if you wear gloves to get better leverage, you need good leverage to make the top latch release. The easy part was replacing the bulb. Now putting back the housing was also a bit of a challenge (not as hard as removing it) because parts of the housing snag on the bumper and grill and do not let it slide in smoothly. I placed blue paint tape on the bumper and side of the fender to avoid any scratches. Bottom line, I got it done.
