My friend gave me his VW 30 pin adapter out of his 2015 Jetta because he was trading it in, so I bought a 30 pin to lightning Apple adapter at Target and tried it in my 2008 Q7 and it would not work, so I went and tried it in his Jetta and it worked fine, why won't it work on my Q7 my phone won't charge or anything with it, and the MMI says this

Any ideas?? Could it be because it is a Vw adapter? I figured they'd be the same.. Is there a setting in the hidden green menu or something?

Internal resistor is different- 2G is 1.87k and his is 18.7k. Open it up, add 1k parallel with the 18.7k and it will work. Read my post about modifying ami cable.

I just brought a 09 Q7 it came with a cord like that with blue on it. It wouldn't connect. Purchase a cord with black from amazon it worked fine.

Thanks for the ideas, I think I'll try to rig it to work or buy one on Amazon.. Lol
