Audi Connect services are blind and all will work so long as you are connected to the internet - it doesn't matter which sim broker is used so long as it uses the T-Mobile 2G/3G network. P-Tel and Truphone use the T-Mobile network and other than the way the plans work, are identical to the T-Mobile 3G sim. The only non-T-Mobile network sim that would work is an AT&T sim, however, it would only operate at slow 2G speeds as their 3G frequency is different than T-Mobile.

update? thinking about doing this, and I want to know which sim card you got? They have two on the website.
$5 for the SIM card, $10 prepayment, and it sounds like that will last me 2 months or so.
Also, check retailmenot.com for coupon codes, I found one for 25% off which brought down my order total from $15 to $11.24. I'll give this a try on my S5 and hopefully will have as much luck as everyone else.

Wondering if anyone has tried Red Pocket (Go Red Pocket - Plans) yet? They are another T-Mobile MVNO and have a 1GB/mo plan for $10. If this works (and I don't see why it won't) it should allow enough data for all AudiConnect features as well as occasional tethering/streaming.

I got the 2FF/3FF SIM Combi Card. Works with the Audi size SIM, and you can even pop out a smaller version to fit iphones. I put $10 on the card, and it seems to work ok now. Sometimes it won't connect to google maps, but that seems to have gone away. I usually never use the google satellite map view, and I only use the google internet search option once in a great while, and so far I still have $7 of my original $10 left on the card.

I bought mine from ebay ($0.99), but you can buy one from them if you prefer ($10.99) - either way though, you do need to get one of their t-mobile sims. I found that the ebay prices were significantly cheaper and have had no problems thus far.
