Default Audi Q7 Trunk Hatch Issue...

Since Monday I've had an intermittent issue with the hatch opening. If I try to open it with the key I have to press the remote button twice or the trunk door button on the driver's side door has to be press twice. If I try to open by hand it opens just about an inch then I have to use the handle switch again to get the hatch to open all the way.

Is there a way to "reset" the memory on the hatch? I've tried opening the hatch manually and pushed the button down and held for a few moments in an attempt to reset but no change in activity.

Before I schedule an appointment with the dealer... Any suggestions?

It sounds like one or both of the lift motors may be weak- and that the module built into the "master" may be failing, not storing settings or responding to the signal from the comfort system.

On this it might be better to try unplugging the module and leave it for a few hours, or short the terminals together to discharge it.
The motors are up in the rear headliner, running across the back, with the shaft pivoting the hatch hinge.

If that does not work then you will have to replace them, then reset VAG coding.

I had the same problem The motors timing is out.i took mine out and disconnect power cables from motors to the attached cpu .i then applied 12v dc and rotated the motor shafts to the open possition (default).i did one moror at the time and set their shaft at the same angle.
I connected them back and all good.
