Default Buying used Q7 ... need your help.

Hello guys,

I've never had Audi but always admired their products so now I am coming very close to get 2010 Q7 TDI S-line with 33K miles. Just test drove it and really enjoyed it. I would like to ask a few questions if I may and hope you can help me.

1. What to look before I buy? Is that year and model reliable? What kind of expenses should I expect?

2. Warranty (I am not sure the car has one). Should I get one? What kind?

Thank you all !!!

IL

PS Years ago I had German car (2001 BMW 740i Sport) and got overwelemed with repair bills depite the fact it was the best (and the most fun car) car to drive. Now I have Lexus LS which is boring but very reliable.

By that age, pretty much everything that was a common problem has been resolved and even the sunroof leaks had been rectified (if it has one) and at 33k, it should drive like a new car.
The main thing to check is the service records -= ask the dealer for a full report on all servicing and any warranty work it has had - this should highlight that it has not been a Octoberfest car!

Having said all that, even a good German car will never beat a Lexus for turn-key reliability and it will be more expensive to run. All servicing, tyres etc.. will cost more so expect higher running costs. The cost of running a 2 1/2 ton four wheel drive car is always going to be a fair amount higher than any conventional car.

I got my 2009 S-Line used, but spent extra $ on an extended 6 yr CPO warranty. SAVED me TONS$$$

Glad I got the warranty.

Have saved a ton of money of electronics repairs (cabin blower died, dash lights malfunctioned, power seat repaired, power mirrors repaired, Bluetooth radio replaced).
