My ecu failed and im waiting on the only new one available in the US, at least thats the BS they are feeding me, hopefully they can get the original issue cleared with this new $2200 part/install, what was the outcome?

An area Audi dealer is offering free oil "top off" between scheduled oil changes. (RED FLAG ?)

Audi has probably paid for "independent" opinions about this increase in oil consumption not being a problem, as seen above. Consumer reports has a 180 degree position. For those who keep their cars for as long as they can I have to wonder if there ever will be a 2017 Q7 with 100,000 miles on the original engine following the scheduled 10,000 oil change and topping off between them. Any owners out there with 100K plus miles care to comment ?

OP - I would still suggest trying a new battery and make sure the battery coding is changed using VAG-COM or similar. It does not have to be a genuine battery and you can just change the existing code by one digit.

a failed battery can cause all sorts of strange problems on newer audis.
crank position sensor could be one, as well as a bad brake pedal switch.
I dont buy the ecu just dying like that all of a sudden.
Please post a scan. if you dont have the tool ask for the diagnosis report from dealer.

I have a 2007 Audi Q7 with 174,000 miles. After having it paid for for several years before issue. The maintenance is with oil leaks about 3000 so far. That is with all seals being change at one time when engine was dropped to do the upper oil pan. That was worth doing it all at once. The roof leak corroded my amp and caused battery drain, luckily I was able to clean corrosion near the fiber can link, all is good. So if you deal with the faulty roof drain before fault and the front drain under wheel wells, the car will serve you well with know things that go out. Also find a local mechanic that is honest with fair pricing. I will not go to dealerships anymore. My guys certified Bentley, VW/Audi, and BMW group of cars. He charges 90.00 usd per hour and min half hour. If he repairs the issue within that time that is all he charges. Once I took my q7 to dealership and they wanted to charge over 5,000 usd to change fuel pumps on high side and deduce a poor running issue. I took it to my guy and he found the issue in 15 min repaired within 30 min. That was a 45.00 repair/ It turned out to be a engine management fuse that didn't burn but offered high resistance.
