on other Audi models I've run into "component protection" after removing seats however i don't know if it occurs on the Q7 since i never removed the seats or changed the battery myself. who is doing the work? if it is an Audi dealer i wouldn't be concerned if it is an independent shop inquire about programming charges that a dealer may charge to disable component protection.

unrelated but are you doing both front seats so they match? very difficult to match to oem leather and more noticeable when next to the passenger seat...
i believe the oem covers cost $750 for the bottom and $300 for the top but i don't remember exactly.

I had my drivers seat reupholstered, I do not know if they disconnected the battery or not when they removed my seat, what I do know is when I got he Q7 back it had an SRS (Safety Restraint System) warning light on the dash. this was because when they disconnected the seat-belt it set off the warning light. Lucky for me I have a VAGCOM so I just cleared the code and reset he SRS systyem. How I did it I can not remember.
