Clean Diesel - laugh or cringe worthy
Hey all
So it was time for the annual inspection of my '11 TDI
I go to a new place in town and they get me right in (which was the goal).
25 minutes later (not supposed to take that long) I am ready for checkout...
He hits me with the $25 due, so I look at the sheet... Now yall tell me what's wrong with this picture:
2015 Audi
Q7
Petrol/Gasoline
Emissions Results - PASS
Safety Results - PASS
Overall Result - PASS
So I tell them, you know that's a diesel right? The fee for diesels is only $7
Bueller...
Response - really.
Yeah really!!
So hand over the keys and 10 minutes later ready to check out again with a proper vehicle listed on the report. I tried all I could to keep that original report but they wouldn't give it up.
Moral of this thread is - I thought we were supposed to be the most filthy bunch of oil burners every seen! We can't be that dirty if we are passing the GASOLIINE emissions tests!!!
ETA - I thought scanning my VIN with their fancy computer would have properly identified the year/make/model...

you are nicer than me...
I would have paid, kept the receipt and sent them directly to jail without the possibility of passing go. We HAVE to fix the cheating and dishonesty that seems to be so prevalent in the Mericun society these days.

It is not particulate emissions which are the problem, it is NOx which is too high in proportion to the overall volume of exhaust gases, the test process will not pick that up.
