Considering a used Q7 3.6L
We are considering the purchase of Q7 3.6L to replace a MB e320 Wagon. We are also looking at the MB ML350.
Regarding the Q7- what are known problem areas ?
What systems/parts seem to require more attention ?
In general how reliable is this vechicle ?
How does the Q7 compare to the ML350 in both reliability and durability ?
Any data out there regarding owners who have logged more than say 150k miles in a Q7 ?
We tend to keep our cars a long time and we value durability- 200k miles is our target.
Thanks !

2008 Q7 4.2 63K, had to replace both fuel pumps, one oxygen sensor, V300 HVAC flap motor, front drivers leather seat cover(leather seperating warranty covered), start button, rear tail light bulb, oil seperator in pcv system(leaked oil), front sunroof drains leaked all over the interior(reglued). Im sure i am leaving something out. I hate to talk bad about the car, because it a sweet ride, but i really should have listened to consumer reports. Quattro is well worth the investment if you can get a reasonable price

only get 2010 and up... below that are all lemons. i have a 2007 3.6. underpowered with a dazed and confused transmission. i drive mostly in "s" gear because "d" is too erratic and slow. i also have the notorious sunroof leak which leaves the interior with a nasty moldy smell after a rainstorm. also the ride is crunchy and stiff. no tact on the road at all. waiting for the XC90 to come out and perhaps the redesigned Q7.

We bought our 07 4.2 with 74,000 miles on 2010. It's 120,000/ miles now. Regular oil change, front brake pads, fuel filter, front blower motor, 3 cans of sea-foam to de-carbon deposit. Still drives very strong now.

I've been away from Audi for nearly 7 years and it's great to be back. We just replaced an 08 X5 4.8i with a CPO 2013 Q7 3.0T and so far it's been great. MUCH more comfortable than the X5; drives very well and the 8 speed transmission is silky smooth. I agree with a previous post that you may want to consider 2010 and newer. I've looked at the ML and it doesn't offer the 3rd row we were looking for and the GL just didn't do it for me and newer ones were too much $$ for what you get. If I had to do it over again I would have opted for a TDI but the 3.0 is not bad. Good luck!
