Default Driver door got keyed. Urggg!

My driver side door got keyed over the weekend. I don't usually bring my car to the shop unless it was in an accident.

Just to get an idea... (and sorry for a newbie question) how much does it cost for a shop to paint a single door?

you're not painting a single door... you're going to blend into the fender and rear door and where the roofline trim meets the fender. i would say you're around $900 depending on your area and labor rate.

That really sucks! Can you post up a pic of the damage and what color is your car?

Cost will be whatever your insurance deductible is.

deductible is $500... but do you claim it so the insurance company can jack up your premium?

A comprehensive claim should not affect your rates. I have placed about 5 comprehensive claims with my insurance company over the last 10 years, no hit on rates. As a matter of facts, rates dropped some years.
