Problems with AC on my 2008 Audi Q7 3.6L
I am not getting any cold air from my vents, So I assumed it was just low on freon. Took it in to a non-Audi repair shop to have freon put in. It hardly had any in it so he filled it. The Mechanic came back and said it was still not cold. Ran a scan, no Error Codes at all, except on door sensors. He unplugged wire from compressor and tested just the compressor, I guess sent electricity to it"manually", and he heard the ac kick on and cold air was coming out of the vents. So does this mean I need to replace the control module? Any other suggestions? Thanks

When the refrigeration doesn't work, the first thing I do is see if the compressor clutch is being engaged, doable on most cars just looking under the hood. Sometimes a flashlight is needed. It's premature to start randomly throwing parts at it. First make sure it's not user error, like being in "econ" mode for example. If that's not the easy answer, you need to pull the error codes. The problem could lie with one of many sensors, the control flap motors, a switch or button, a control module, or other things.

There are no error codes and the mechanic disconnected
the wire from compressor and engaged the ac clutch manually. They it worked fine. Now on my version the belt always runs the "Clutch" But when he engaged the compressor manually he could here the compressor kick in and cold error coming out of vents. And ECON mode is off, is that the only thing to make sure the AC is on? Besides being on the "Lo" setting

The belt runs the clutch pulley on all of them. When the clutch is engaged, the center of the clutch spins, when the clutch is not engaged, the center of the pulley does not turn. As far as econ being the only thing to check for, all I can say is that's all I can think of offhand. Maybe setting the fan speed manually to zero could affect it, too. I've had the Q7 about 1-1/2 years and really resent how difficult it is to work some things, the climate system being one of them. I'm constantly dealing with trying to un-do things the car does on its own that I don't want. Another thing you could try is hitting defrost button (top of 3 buttons in the center of the climate panel). I believe that shouldl engage the compressor. I've never used it and never want to because of all the things it changes, but in your case I think it's worth a try.
