Tried the fuse panels on either end of the dash but nothing in there...

When stored in the 3.0l TDI (ASB/BKS/BMK/BNG) with throttle body faults P106B/004203 and/or 17988/P1580/005504 check the throttle unit and wiring for issues that may be falsely causing the turbocharger fault.

If the wiring is ok then you are looking at a new J724.

Default Fantastic Info Smith - Thanks

I still don't see where the fuse is that controls the input voltage to the unit...
Its number one on the checklist :-)
Any ideas?

Default 4 pins or 5

I've looked that diag info you pasted - thanks again. Either i'm on a different revision or i'm looking the wrong place for the controller module.
The diag asks to test pins 1-5 but i only have 4!

I'm looking at centre of the engine nearest the windscreen. The module is slightly to the left when facing the car.
Thanks,
J

Your control Module is on your Turbo. Below is a overview (#19 on the page)
I do not have diagram of the plug. I do know you need a program to plug into the turbo to check your system. VAS 6395/1 if you do not have this you are stuck to go to the dealer.

This is what the VAS looks like which you need to reprogram.

Fuse is in the E-box plenum area. Look for your J724 fuse. Look at your notes so you can locate under you eng code. (Example in the US are codes are CATA.)
