Fuel filter replacement
I have question. I have a 2011 Audi Q7 TDI and planning on replacing the fuel filter myself since it is the horizontal canister on top with just 2 tubes coming out of it. My question is would I need a Vagcom to run the fuel pump to purge the air out of the fuel line or can I just turn the ignition to ON a few times to run the fuel pump? thanks.

I didn't do any VAGCOM (VCDS) operations just because I changed the fuel filter. However, I made the change as part of the 10k service, and I used the VCDS to reset the service monitor/ indicator.

Just replaced the fuel filter myself in my '11 TDI and didn't use the VAG-com. Just slip off the two hoses and slide in the new filter, pay attention to the arrow indicating the direction of flow and have some rags ready for some fuel to drip out. I did leave the ignition on for about 1-2 minutes to let the pump do its thing. Fired right up!!
Bought the filter at my local AUDI dealer for $39.99.
