Great deal on high milleage Q7 TDI
So I have the chance to put my hands on a 2012 Q7 TDI with approx. 200 000 kms (125 000 miles) for around 18 000$
The SUV was a company owned car so I am assuming the scheduled maintenance was done but I'll go on the safe side and ask for the service history. From talking to the current owner I know he recently changed the brakes/rotors on the vehicle*.
Considering I don't put a lot of mileage on my cars (10-15 000 kms/year) I think that it is a pretty good deal.
Is there anything specific that you guys would ask/check before buying? Any thoughts on reliability issues with the high mileage?
Any insight would be appreciated, thanks !

Had an allroad that I sold at 309000km, and it is still running, of course the older they get, the more TLC they need. Just look for the service history, it could be a good deal.

Great read, thanks !
So far the only preventive maintenance I plan to do is change the timing chain if it has not been done already. Do you know the cost to do this? Any other suggestions?

Definitely going to need a new DPF if it hasn't already been replaced. Give a Audi dealership the VIN # they will be able to tell when and what's been serviced. That's if it was serviced at a Audi dealership.

At 110.000 miles need to check the HPFP belt, if this goes you are looking at 5000 bill.
common belts and pulleys three pulleys and one belt.
EGR valve sometimes sticks open and your idle will not go down at 1st start.
Transmission service (life oil sometimes do not like the winter it will be to thin)
check front diff and rear diff can cause diff special gears to worn quickly on old oil.
check your turbo boot for signs of leaking oil on it, cause by your turbo breather rubber seal worn.
This should get you started.
