Default Help-I think Audi dealership is $crewing me!!

.
Our Diagnosis is that your vehicle has a camshaft position fault and a camshaft timing fault.

We recommend the following repairs:
Below is an estimate that I received for my 2007 Q7 with 88k miles on it. I only drive around town, not towing or off roading. I have been faithful in servicing the car on time. I feel like the dealership is not being honest. What do you all think about what they told me below. Honest opinions please. Should I fix it and hope to continue with out problems or take their $5K trade in?

Replacement of camshaft adjusters and solenoids, oil pump, timing chain (possibly stretched) and timing chain guide rails.

Total Estimate is $8.885.00

Audi of America is offering a onetime goodwill 60/40 split with the customer responsible for the 40%. Your portion(40%) would come to $3,554.00.

We believe that these repairs listed above will correct the faults stored in the vehicle, but without the engine being completely disassembled we are not able to determine if additional parts or labor would be needed.[/U]

any audi dealership will screw you. their operating costs are way too high and they have to keep a higher profit margin.

+6, probably costs $3550 and they want you to think your getting a great deal whilst bent over the service counter. They are insane with cost

Wow! The last time I checked, Audi together with BMW, MB, and Porsche already cost more than other non-luxury brands; which probably includes costs of maintaining and fixing the cars.
