iPhone 6+ Connecting to MMI on 2008 Q7
Does anyone else with a 2007-2008 Q7 have issues connecting their iPhone 6+ (iOS 9.1) to the Audi cable via a genuine Apple 30-8 pin converter? I recently purchased a 2008 Q7 and tried connecting my phone for the first time and I get a message after it is done initializing that no songs can be found on the phone. When I try to play music via Pandora it quickly pauses after hitting play and nothing comes through the car. The Audi cable is 4F0051510E. Wondering if it would help if I got the newer 4F0051510L cable or if this is just a compatibility issue between the 6+ and the Q7.

I use a tune2air on the Audi cable in the glove box. iPhones sync to it and it works just like the cable was connected. (except charging)

I just stream via bluetooh
works great with my Ipod. Also, I create lists of songs and copy them to an SD card, plug it into the built in SD slots, and play them, it is a great way to listen to what you want to.

I'm finding that iOS9 in general is having issues with the Audi MMI system. I have two iPhones that i can use as a music source in my 2008 Q7 and both with iOS9 have significant issues initializing with the MMI when the car is started. I first thought it was the phone connection to the cable i'm using, but i switched phones and it still has the problem.
i also get "only one accessory can be used at one time" errors since iOS9 - something I have never received before in my Audi Q7.
I have an 30-pin female adapter cable running from the MMI connection in the console and that cable runs up the center console to the the steering column. Then i have an Apple 30-pin to lightning adapter mounted in the platform that runs between the Speedometer and Tachometer. I mount my phone between them while operating the vehicle.
One workaround i've discovered is that if you have the music player app loaded and running on the screen when you start the car, the MMI will initialize the iPhone with no problems, and begin to play music at the normal time it takes to initialize. If you don't keep the music player app open and running, the iPhone will never initialize with the MMI. If i turn off the car and come back a few minutes later, the MMI will not reconnect and continue playing the song it was playing (like it always did)
I also lose connection to the MMI while songs are playing, but that is less frequent.
I believe it's a bug in the iOS version (I'm now up to 9.2.1) and it's been prevalent in all updates sine 9.0 was released.
I plan to send in feedback to Apple regarding this issue.

A 2011 like ours will not stream audio over Bluetooth. That is why we use the Tune2Air. prevents having to put the phone in the glove box to plug it into the MMI cable. I realize that newer MMI is different. I should have been more clear. The playlist IS viewable and operational but the MMI does get confused between ones iTunes playlist and Pandora or whatever. Takes a bit of "jigling" sometimes to get things synced and working.

tune2air
I also use tune2air that I got from viseeousa.com. I have the WMA3000A with AMI cable. Bluetooth streaming works really great using this device. It also have steering wheel controls. Try this and job done.
