Default Issue with side assist

Had a warning flash on my dash that said " problem with Audi side assist, sensors blocked" what the hell would cause the sensors to report that? Hadn't washed the car in a week but its not THAT dirty LOL.. Any ideas?

I get that when I have the trailer on the back - but not all the time just sometimes and it has once done it is VERY heavy rain.

Check you haven't got cobwebs around either door mirror!

Had that happen in November when I got my windows tinted, then in December it went from a blocked sensors fault to module fault and needs a new module. Still not working to this day because I don't even know where to get a module, nor do I feel like taking it to get re-calibrated once the module is replaced.

I had that after waxing my vehicle. I had to clean the wax residue around the sensors. That did it.

where are the sensors located on the car body? I assume we are not talking about the indicators in the side mirrors that flash yellow when someone is in your blind spot.

Thanks D3! I'll give her a thorough cleaning tomorrow and see if that rectifies the issue. Will report back after.

Sensors are inside rear bumper cover. If you get a blocked sensor message and bumper is clean, one or both sensors may be faulty or the system may need to be calibrated.
