recently bought 2012 Q7. Warranty due to expire within next 2 months. Looking for suggestions on things that I should have checked before warranty expires?? I know that dealer will not actively look for things, but are there specific areas that tend to have problems when nearing 4 yr or 50K mark?

This is my first Q7 so I'm still learning about the car. love it so far!!

You might look into getting an extended service contract (extended warranty) while it's still under the factory warranty. In my experience with shopping these ESCs, the lower the mileage, the lower the cost for like coverage (additional time and additional mileage).

If I recall, the pricing and the availability (in at least one instance) to purchase coverage from certain outlets was dependent on whether or not the vehicle in question was still under factory warranty.

These things are also typically negotiable in price, so shop around and haggle with them a bit. I went with the Audi branded "Platinum" ESC, though Audi USA doesn't actually underwrite it and it's not identical in coverage to the original factory warranty, but it will easily pay for itself if you have a couple moderate mechanical issues come up.

if you have keyless entry check all door handles are working and leave car on the highest suspension setting to check airbags and compressor.
