Default New Q7--Tire Noise?

Hey guys, just picked up a new Q7 TDI Premium Plus last weekend for my wife. Love the car--runs great, will pull our wakeboard boat, hauls the entire family, gets good highway mileage, seems to be of high quality and looks killer... but the road noise at highway speed on anything but perfectly smooth surfaces is totally unacceptable. I've been in $12k Kia's with less road noise. It has the 20" wheels and Pirelli Scorpion tires--could the tires be the problem?

Yep, unfortunately the Pirelli's are a noisy tire. Every Audi I have been in with em have been that way, even at different tire pressures.

switch the tires... do a winter set on the 20" and do the 21" with summer rubber.

I have the new Pirelli Scorpion Verde All seasons on my 2013 ML350 and they are super quiet compared to my all time favorite Michelin Latitude all season tires. Do you have the scorpion verde or the asymetrico?

Hate to change tires ($$$) on a brand new $60k plus car, but... guess I'll start looking at what options I have in that regard. Any suggestions?

Michelin Latitude. Great all season tire... Good grip, quiet around town or freeway, and will last quite a while before you would need to replace.
It's one of my beefs when buying a new car. You spend a small fortune, and have no choice in what tires you get when the vehicle is delivered.
Enjoy your new Q

LOL--here in Texas we really don't need winter tires... we maybe got 1" of snow this winter--total. Will check into the Michelins... thanks for the tip.

Good news! Dealer called today and said they will replace the Pirelli's with Michelin Latitude's for no charge! Gotta love good customer service!
