I got mine through ECS. Since I am also in OH, and I opted for UPS shipping, it came the next day.

can you share the part number?
it seems the wiper transmission is the linkage+motor @ 450-500USD!

Further does any know if this part is compatible for RHD too? I live in Hong Kong

Not 100% that it is the same for RHD, but here is the number:

The q7 wiper transmission only comes with the motor. However, the one for touareg has the option for linkage w/o motor. It is much cheaper. Are they exchangeable?

No they are not exchangeable. Motor and linkage are different.

For those of you that replaced the passenger wiper arm, how do you keep the arms from moving while you loosen and tighten the nuts?

Hold the arm with one hand while you loosen the nuts.

My bad, so despite the thread being about wiper arms, my issue is the passenger side arm (similar to the photos above) NUT keeps becoming loose. The mechanics I took it too all claim the wiper linkage needs full replacement (USD500).

I suddenly realized it's not the about the wiper linkage/transmission at all but simply the arm, however I removed the arm and found it to be completely fine, not a smoothed out spline issue at all. The posts have clean threads as well. The left NUT appeared to be hand tight only, however upon wrenching it back tightly, the wiper worked again. This is the 2nd time it has slowly started to loosen on me.

So the question follows, is it still the wiper transmission? or will a new arm fix anything? Finally is it possible it's just the nut?

What if I "locktite" the nut on? Appears to be a reasonably easy/cheap fix.

Did you figure this out? I had the same problem as OP, my passenger side wiper arm broke off driving down the highway in a huge rain storm. Replaced arm and it's been fine for about a year but two days ago it came loose and stopped working. I tightened it down and then again today it loosened back up. Driving me nuts! I was thinking locktite too. Let me know how you made out.

Locktite worked for about a month.

I think the torque from the wiper transmission is so strong that it rips it apart (as it did the arm).

I'm bringing it in to a VAG specialist on Friday to see what they can do. In Hong Kong where I live, I was quoted USD1000 (at Audi) for the part replacement....hence my requirement to look for other measures.
