Default Price paid for changing your breaks

What did you guys pay for your breaks?

My dealer here in Chantilly VA told me I need my FRONT breaks replaced and it's going to be $1,450. I took it to a local shop and paid $700 instead.

$700 isn't all that bad, but if you've got basic tools, it's easy to do yourself. It would be about $300 for parts shipped to you for new pads, rotors, misc. Its about a 2 hr job.

$1450 is robbery...

Cool. I don't feel so bad paying $700 then.
