Default Which Q7 should i choose?????

I had plans to buy a 2011 S Line Prestige last week, but a family emergency put the kabash on that. Late night internet surfing revealed 2 additional possibilities.

I am DEFINITELY buying my car in the next few days. I now have 3 options and I desperately need your help. Most important thing to me is gas mileage even though I am not distance driver. I also want the warm/cold weather packages. Reliability is also important. The diesel is really appealing to me for the mpgs and the value retention but I wonder if the mileage is too high. I plan to do my part by staying on top of my scheduled maintenance. Here are my 3 options.

1. 2012 Premium Plus 3.0- 52,600- $40k - CPO but Carfax shows no scheduled maintenance has been done.
2. 2011 Premium Plus TDI- 60500-$38750- All scheduled maintenance performed
3. 2011 S Line Prestige 3.0- 55000-$36k- All schedule maintenance performed

I need to purchase an extended warranty for numbers 2 and 3 so that needs to be factored in as well. How much would an extended warranty run for either of those two? I am looking for plans that offer 5 or 6 years w/ 125k miles. Which extended warranty plans do you recommend?

Would you also tell me why you would pick one over another? Sorry to ask so many questions, but I really want to make the right decision. I tend to keep my cars for a long time. It took me 12 years to get my gas guzzling Escalade to 95,000 miles!

Thanks in advance!

If gas mileage is your most important consideration, #2 is your only choice.

Most of my driving was short term city. I got 20-22 mpg for that kind of driving. Will the 3.0t do that?

I have a 2013 S-Line Prestige so I am able to talk on that, I have no complaints on this truck and it is absolutely perfect. I'm a city driver and don't drive too far and usually on a full tank it will last about 1 and a half week to two weeks(depending on if driven everyday or every othey day). Honestly considering you are not going to be driving it long distances normally I would say theres not much of a difference in the TDI and gas. I would definitly take the S-Line prestige over premium plus just because in my opinion its so much nicer and trust me tht S-Line is really fun to drive. All things being said, u cant go wrong with any of em and welcome to the Q7 fam

Thank you for the replies!

The cost of Audi's extended warranty is RIDICULOUS!!! I was quoted 14k for bumper to bumper 4 years/ 48k miles. I'm really leaning towards the CPO or raising my budget and going with a newer automobile. Audi's are so expensive to maintain I want to be covered as long as possible.

I like driving both. The TDI was a pleasant surprise! My mother had a Mercedes diesel many many years ago and it was a total embarrassment!! This one was smooth, quiet and really powerful!!

Anyone know of an extended warranty for a car with higher miles?

no. from my experience 16-18mpg (shell 93 v-power)... but if he isn't a distance driver in general the premium for the tdi, the higher cost of diesel fuel at the pump and the occasional adblue may offset any "savings" if he isn't using it for long hauls or distance or commuting or even towing.

The Audi dealership gave me that price. They played the one card they had. I came w/ my own financing that they couldn't beat. I had my car appraised at Carmax so they couldn't take advantage of me on trade in value. The price was already low so the only way they could make money was on the warranty.

How do I contact Brucem and does he sell warranties on cars with such high mileage?

Also, how are your interiors holding up? I noticed excessive wear on the leather on the side of the gear shift of the TDI.

25% better fuel mileage is well worth it. Besides, diesel is less expensive than premium gasoline here, and the cost of AdBlue is negligible if purchased at WalMart and self added.

around here diesel is .20 more than shell 93... adblue cost is a factor although small. i am just pointing out that you have to factor in all points and costs when deciding if it is for you.
