Default Remember to grease your wiper pivots

I learned the hard way you should grease your pivots yearly. My wipers were slow today, went to clean and grease the pivots but too late the damage was done! The driver pivot was completely seized.

I used this article http://glassmagazine.com/article/aut...audi-q7-118826 but I must say in my case a simple spray of grease at the top of the pivot would have done nothing. You will need to remove 4 torx 25 screws holding the mechanism in the cowl area then 2 smaller screws at the back of the engine, torx 15 I think. After you have done that, remove the wiper linkage assembly and disconnect the motor. You might need to move the linkage arms position to clear the bottom of the windshield. The rest is simply removing the C clips at the bottom of the pivots then a washer. You should have an o-ring with a washer on the top of the pivot, DON'T lose them. Once you have the pivots removed, clean and used some sandpaper the sand down any corrosion. To reinstall use a good synthetic low load, waterproof grease (molykote, lubriplate, I heard plumber grease too) just DON'T use white lithium, it tends to dry and contains a lot of rock dust apparently.
