Default remote receiver unit?

Hello all,
Does anyone has the picture and location of the Q7's remote receiver unit? I would like to see if I can build an antenna for the unit.

Thanks,

Louis

according to the AUDI Q7 Electrical SSP_364 pdf, page 7, the Aerial reader unit for entry authorisation for keyless entry system J723 is located on the passenger side in the trunk area.
I hope this helps.

Thank you, I'll check it out this weekend. Do you have the navigation system wiring? I'm thinking about putting one in mine.

Thanks,

Louis

I don't think that it's that easy. Due to the CAN bus topology the navigation is tied in to the telephone, infotainment & instrument console display modules. Which form a ring network called the MOST ring(optical data bus). You will find that the Q7's electrical system was developed from the A6 C6-chassis.
Since I discovered volkspage.net(thanks to the people on this forum) I have been downloading service training self study manuals and reading them on my lunch breaks.

More info about MOST ring: PART 1/PART 2

Thanks for the links,
I lifted up the trunk tray out and saw the place for the dvd and the connector. I'm sure all the necessary thing is the connector. The 08 premium package already has the newer MMI already. I just need a switch and a dvd, I think. I'll have to check out to see the wiring on the DVD itself.

Cheers,

Louis
