Default Rotors and pads

I have a 2011 3.0 tdi s line and my front Pads are getting down and Audi said the rotors need changing too , I think Audi want around £515 for this (UK) , my local independent can fit aftermarket front Rotors and pads from £250 to £300 depending on quality so quite a saving but is it false economy are genuine Audi worth the extra ?
If not which after market brand should I go for ?
Thanks in advance for any advice

I bought my own rotors and pads (they were OEM) and had my indy shop do the install. Saved a TON of money.

Do you know what brand rotor they are suggesting? In the US, there are Bosch and Zimmerman available, along with a third brand that I don't think I'd use. I don't know if Brembo is making the rotors along with the calipers or not.

For pads, I've run Pagid (endurance race yellow), Textar and Jurid pads on 993 calipers on one of my other Audis. I liked the Pagids the best, which happen to be the OE.

Front rotors and pads would be a breeze on these. The rears would be a little more tricky due to the drum-in-hat park brake assembly. DIY the fronts and save even more sterling.

If you buy from Eurocarparts or CarParts4less (both the same company) you will get a choice of brands and prices accordingly.

I fitted Pagid pads which are OEM pads but they do squeal at low speed when warm. Most from them should be OK and your independent mechanic will probably buy from them anyway - they deliver nationwide - many areas have same-day service.

Has anyone tried Textar pads on your Audi Q7? I'm not satisfied with the bite of the OEM pads.
