Possibly, but like i say, when i changed the fuel filter in the engine bay i could then go well above 3500rpm. So dirty filters do make a huge difference.

Plus my friend who has the same car as me, and tune, works perfectly for him. For me with half amount of miles than he has on the clock, and he hasn't changed this hidden/secondary tank filters either.

He does have the latest software on his Engine ECU's though, where as i don't.

When I look tat up in the US database for Petrol a picture shows up of that part, with no part number or description. Maybe unique to US market gas engines?

The other filter the guy at the shop was telling you about, that was part of the assembly, is probably the pump inlet screen. Not really a filter, it is meant to keep large things out of the pump. Almost all cars have this screen(filter).
