For Q7, I know everyone is talking about TDI but what is the real difference in performance? I do not have an opportunity to test drive both side by side unfortunately.

What I am looking for is:

- which one is more dynamic (accelerates better) at 80-100 km per hour speed? I am no worried about taking off from the traffic light first but like an ability to accelerate while I am driving at a cursing speed. I actually hate when a car takes off really fast and then looses all the dynamics.

To address your specific question. I own an A6 TDI and have driven an RX350 and a Q7 TDI. As people have said, the TDI delivers tons of torque at lower RPMs that are closer to normal driving RPMs. As a consequence, when you step down to pass the vehicle accelerates very quickly but always in a refined and controlled manner. It can pass from 80-110 or 100-130 in a blink. The RX350 needs to build up RPM and gather itself before it launches and it does not have the driving feel and composure of an Audi. It is well made, has great materials and luxury and it otherwise a very nice vehicle. I don't know if it's only a chick car but it has a powder puff ride. Some would say it is a chic car. I wouldn't sell it short though, it's a competent vehicle and there are a lot of them out there. But the Q7 is a luxury performance car and the RX350 is a luxury car. Both are practical and will last a long time. Both have lots of neat features.

It's too bad you can't drive both of them out on the hi way and try a few passes. You'd see your decision to buy an Audi Q7 is a good one.

I'm in the far North Idaho panhandle about 100km from Canada and my A6 TDI does fine in the winter, although I do keep it in a garage heated to 4°C. I live 0.7km up a steep (16%) unpaved road and the Quattro drive with snow tires has no problem getting up the road. The car handles like it was built for winter.

That said I drive my Acura MDX AWD with chains when the going get tough because I think the A6 it too beautiful to let all those crazy drivers who don't know how to drive on snow to take a shot at my Audi. I don't care if they hit the MDX, it's my wife's car. I tolerate it and respect it but i don't like it.
