What is the difference is performance between 3L Gas and 3L TDI?

If you do a lot of highway trips, the TDI will consistently deliver 26MPG(Even as cold as 15'F) to 32MPG (warmer days 45'F+) on the 2014 model. That is what I have seen in the past two months of winter. The TDI engine noise is fairly quiet, not too audible to my ears with the windows up. And the large gas tank means you can get 620 some miles on a full tank!!
